Introduction

Viswanathapuram Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Viswanathapuram village, Panruti circle, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. On the Cuddalore-Panruti road,Vishwanathapuram is located on the south bank of the Tenpen River, north of Tirukannapuram temple, next to Nellikuppam. There is a small Vinayagar temple at the entrance to the town and to the west of this temple is the big blue copper roof which is the abode of the Lord. This big Shiva temple may have been destroyed by flood. Now the great lingas sitting under the tin shed. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
