Introduction

U. Mangalam Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the U. Mangalam village, Kurinjipadi circle, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. This village is located next to the second thermal power station in U. Mangalam. This Shiva temple is located on the small road to the north of the U. Mangalam bus stand.

When the villagers completed the construction of one Mariamman temple and one Vinayagar temple, the priest said that it is not good for the town to do two temples and make it into three temples.

As it is a broken pot, it is covered with copper. Behind Shiva seated on a simple platform is a raised platform with steps and above him a beautiful cement roof with five dragons holding an umbrella. Monthly pujas are going on before Dakshan Murthy in the south and Navagraha in the northeast. The Temple lingam is believed to be 1000 years old.
