Introduction

Thethi – Pasupathichetyarthottam Sundereswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Thethi village, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. Sundereswarar Temple is a big temple in this village. Pashupati Chetty was a businessman who came here from Sri Lanka. This temple may also have been built by him. And the Temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old. The old temple and the surrounding halls have collapsed and the new temple has come up. Here the Presiding deity is called as Lord Sundareswarar in the form of lingam and Mother is called as Meenakshi. Lord Sundareswarar and Goddess shines towards the west with three tiered Rajagopuram. Nandi is in front of the Lord Sundareswarar. Vinayagar sanctum is in the south-west and Murugan is in the north-west side of the temple.
