Introduction
Therkupanaiyur Shiva Temple is located in the Therkupanaiyur village, Kilvelur circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. This is a small town with only two streets. Adjacent to the town is a large pond, on the upper bank of which there is a Shiva temple facing east. Two linga Murthys and a Nandi were taken from it in a completely damaged condition and placed in a copper shed, the villagers decided to build a new temple and the new temple was built with the help of Goddess Lakshmi. The Lord’s shrine to the east, goddess shrine to the south, Vinayakar Murugan Mahalakshmi shrines and Bhairava sun shrines are being prepared. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
