Introduction

The Shiva Lingeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Sivalingapuram Village near Andimadam in Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District, Tamil Nadu, India. This temple is part of the Pancha Bootha Sthalams around Andimadam, representing the Pancha Bhootas (five prime elements of nature).

Historical Significance:

The temple is believed to be more than 1300 years old.
According to tradition, Sage Agastya is said to have installed and worshipped Lord Shiva in this temple. It is one of the five Shiva temples constructed by Sage Agastya around Andimadam, with each temple representing one of the Pancha Bhootas.

Current Condition:

Unfortunately, the temple complex has been lost, and only the Shiva Lingam remains.
The Lingam is housed under a shed or protective structure.

While the temple complex itself may have been lost, the presence of the Shiva Lingam and the historical and religious significance it holds make it a place of reverence for devotees.
