Introduction
Kadambeshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva; Located in the Rattihalli is a place in Hirekerur taluk of Haveri district in Karnataka. Rattihalli is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, in India. The temple is around 26 km from Ranebennur. Here the Primary deity is known as Kadambeshwara in the form of Lingam, Nandi is opposite to the Lord. It contains sculptures, including lions and floral motifs. The east facing Kadambeshwara is also known as Kadambeshvara Temple. The Kadambeshwara temple in Rattihalli was built by the Kadambas (11th century) but later taken over by the Chalukyas. It was a simple Shiva temple with not many carvings. It has three Garbhagrihas, three Antaralas leading to spacious Navaranga and an open pillared Sabhamandapam. The interior roof of the temple has an exquisitely carved gigantic lotus in an inverted form. The temple is 60 km away from Haveri town on the banks of river Kumadvati & it is nearby Veerabhadraswamy temple Rattihalli.
