Introduction
Navalur Ekambaranatheswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Navalur, Serapanacheri Municipality, Kundarthur Taluk, Chennai district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Presiding deity is called as Ekambaranatheswarar and Mother is called as Kamatchi. The Presence of two Nandi’s in this temple is a special feature that cannot be seen anywhere else. For many years, this temple is seen without maintenance, trees have grown on the shrine of Kamatshi Amman, and the gopuram has been damaged. There is a danger of the tower collapsing as a tree is growing to a height of 4 feet on Ekambaranadeshwarar Sanctum. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. The temple is under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, is not maintained.
