Introduction

Manakkadu Chandramouleswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Manakkadu village, Valangaiman circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Manakkadu is located at the fourth kilometre of the minor road from Papanasam to Aaur. The temple is located a little away from the town. There is no ancient temple, only the Lingamurthy is presented in the village. He is known as Chandramouliswarar because he worshiped the moon. The Lord is in the tin shed towards the east and the Ambika is a little further away and has a chamber towards the south. Vinayagar and Murugan are present at the gate of Lord’s palace. There is also a Nandi opposite. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
