According to ancestors, the main idol was broken during the reign of mother Ahilyabai. The broken idol had blood coming out of the finger of God. Goddess Ahilyabai Holkar got the information about the dismemberment of the idol’s finger. Then Ahilyabai installed the second idol near the main idol. This idol is also of black stone. Two queens of God are also visible on both sides of the idol. The idol has four hands of the Lord holding conch, chakra, mace and lotus. Both the idols are there in the temple.
The temple being made of stone rests on 16 stone pillars. The temple is very ancient and magnificent. The idol of Shri Garuda Bhagwan is also installed in the temple.
