Introduction
Kurumberi Arunachaleswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kurumberi village, Thiruvarur circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Kurumberi is one kilometer north of Sholanganallur on Thiruvarur-Kangalanchery-Nagur road. This Shiva temple is located on the south bank of the river. This Shiva temple is unique in this town. On the banks of a large pond, the temple of Lord Arunachaleswara is facing towards the east side of the village.
Here the Presiding deity is called as Arunachaleswarar and Mother is called as Unnaamulai Amman. The lord facing the east side and the Mother is looking towards the south side of the sanctum. Vinayaka and Murugan are at the sanctum sanctorum gate. Nandi is looking at the Lord in the hall opposite the Lord sanctum. There is a small Vishnu idol in one corner of the hall. In the north-east there is a Bhairava facing west on a single sanctum. The front of the hall is adorned with a sculpture of the Lord. The inscription says that the temple is believed to be 1200 years old.
