Introduction
Kilathanjavur temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, Located in the Kilathanjavur village, Nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu. This place is also known as Marugal Nadu Thanjavur. At present the place is known as Kilathanjavur. There are two Shiva temples here. One is the incarnation site of Seruthunai Nayanar, the temple of Lord Mulanathar. Another temple is said to be worshiped by the Panchapandis. The temple is located on the outskirts of the town. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. There were only five large lingams here and no other idols. All five are said to have been worshiped by the Panchapandis. The Kochengannayanar Servants’ Council recently stabilized all these structures and set up tin sheds for them. The lingam in the center is called Tharumalingeswarar and the four sides are set up as Arjuneswarar Bhimeswarar Nakuleswarar Sakadeveswarar. However, it seems that the village peoples did not celebrate any festivals here.
