Introduction
Kannambadi-Perambur Ekambareswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Kannambadi – Perambur, Needamangalam circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Perambur is located in 5 km away from Needamangalam on the road that goes along the banks of Gorai River. Kannambadi is a part of this Perambur village. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Kannambadi has a Shiva temple facing east side. Here the Presiding deity is called as Lord – Ekambareswarar and Mother is called as – Kamakshi amman, temple is big. There is no gate in the east; there is a small gate in the west side of the temple. Many colourful flowers and trees are densely grown in the temple campus. The Lord is facing east and the Lord is in a dome-like structure in the same hall. On a platform are two goddesses like Mariamman. A hall connects the two sanctuaries. Vinayaka and Murugan are at the gate of Lord’s palace. Among Karurai are Tenmugan and Durgai. The temple is privately owned temple.
