Introduction

The temple of Kamleshwar Mahadev situated on the border of Sawaimadhopur and Bundi district has been a witness to ancient history. The temple of Kamleshwar Mahadev Mandir Indergarh Bundi Rajasthan has been built on a platform 40 ft. high from the ground. To reach the temple, there is a staircase – case built with the platform. On this platform, the platform has been built with stones of shapes; put one on the other in a way that the entire edifice was built.

Puranic Significance

This temple is a pilgrimage site of the medieval era. Hammir’s father Jaitra Singh built this temple with a high pinnacle of city style. It was built in 1345 on the banks of the Chakhan River. This temple is 12 km away from Indergarh Sumerganjmandi and 45 km away from Sawai Madhopur district headquarter. It is also called Mini Khajuraho. There are still two temples left here, in which one has completely turned into ruins, which is known as Khanddevara. The second main Shiva temple is worth seeing. Here the art of yoga, asana and music has been shown in the form of different idols by carving stones in different postures. There are idols of various gods and goddesses around.

Inside the Kamleshwar Mahadev Indergarh Rajasthan temple and under the shikhar there are eight shikhar bracket-like projections which also have statues carved on them. The pyramid like shape of the peak becomes roundish upward and atop is a pinnacle. Outside the temple there are many Gongs hanging.

Beliefs

Skin diseases can be cured by taking bath here: There are three kunds built in Kamleshwaramahadev Indargarh Steps are made for bathing in two of these kunds and another kund is built on the way of Chakan River. People believe that bathing in these three pools cures skin diseases.
