Introduction

Chullanmedu Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Chullanmedu village, Kuthalam Taluk, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. Chullan River runs for 4 km on the road leading to Kokkuru directly south of Kuthalam and this solitary temple is situated near a brick culvert on the left side along its north bank. The lingam, which has been standing alone for many years, has been set up by some well-wishers. The only Shiva lingam is in small tin shed. It is not known what happened to the other Murthys. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
