Introduction
the temple is located 120 KM from Chennai and 20 KM from Thiruthani. The temple is 10th century AD / Early Chola period. Visaleswarar Temple is built in the early Chola style of architecture. The head of the sanctuary plane (peak) is located in a circle in Vesarapani, Has three bases. On the outer walls of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there are sculptures of a south-facing deity, a four-faced deity on the north and a Durga in the Arthamandapa. In the facade of the temple, there are sculptures of Ganapati and Ezhukanniyar in the style of the early Cholas. Near the entrance of the temple are Navakanda sculptures of two warriors dedicating their heads to the god. All these sculptures are in the early Chola style. The shiva Temple, also known as the Visaleswarar Temple, is built in the early Chola style. The sculptures in this temple are similar to the earlier Chola sculptures. The temple has a sculpture of the beautiful Goddess (Jyeshta Devi). It is a heritage site under the Archaeological Survey of Tamil Nadu.
