Introduction
Thirumanur is located on the north bank of the Kolli River on the Keezhappaluvoor-Thiruvaiyaru road. The temple was built over a thousand years ago by Sembian Matheviyar, the grandmother of Rajaraja. This is a temple that was later rebuilt by the Pandyas and many others from the Udayarpalayam estate. The town was renamed as Tiyagavinodhanaarur and later became known as Maruvi Thirumanur. The large temple, spread over 2.5 acres, has two prakaras. Although there are two gates, the east and the south, the south outer gate is accessible to most. This gate is directly opposite the Ambika Sanctuary. Lord Kailasanathar Goddess- Kamatchi. In the sanctum sanctorum there are Ganesha, Tenmugan, Linkodpavar, Brahman, Durga. The first round features a beautiful circular hall. In the west temple passage there is a shrine with Ganesha, Murugan-Valli Deivana and Mahalakshmi. Kasi Vishwanath, Vaidyanath and a Nandi in front of him and Jashtadevi nearby. In the second section is a large archway to the east. Although it is a large temple with many specialties, it is rarely visited by people. # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K.
