Introduction

Idayanallur is a town located on the north bank of the river Palavan on the Thiruppanandal – Thirumangalakudi road. Here the Lord facing east is with a single sanctuary. The name of the Lord is Mahalinga Swami. The temple belongs to the Thiruppanandal Kasi Monastery. The Lord with the square pedestal gives the appearance of a large lingam as the name implies.
