Mahishasuramardhini Temple is temple dedicated to lord shiva. located in Barikad, Muttathody, Kasaragod, Kasaragod District, Kerala, near the bank of Madhuvahini river. This shiva temple is completely dilapidated condition. it is 1000 years old shiva temple. And the handiwork of artisans and sculptures is all but disappearing. The temple is a complex of plants growing without adequate maintenance. Brick ruins are scattered in front of the temple. The walls are damaged by sprouting trees. The shiva lingam is placed outside the temple. Even poojas will take placed in some special placed. This shiva temple is in the center of the forest, surrouned with big tree. The route to this place is very small but the place itself has a divine vibe to it.
