Introduction

This ancient someshwara swamy temple is located in Shimoga Taluk, Shikaripur, Karnataka state, India. This temple is without gopuram, And the temple is completely dilapidated condition. Thus is an austere temple with a Garbhagriha, Antarala, and a pillared Mandapa with a porch in east-west orientation. The entrance doorway is ornate with as many as four door jambs which at the base has well sculptured Dwarapalas and Apsara figures. The jambs are ornate variety with creeper decorations. The primary deity is lord Somesvara swamy. A few meter distance there is another somesvara temple which is in ruins.
