Introduction

Ongallur Taliyil Shiva Temple Situated near Pattambi, the Ongallur Taliyil Shiva Temple in Palakkad district of Kerala, has some of the most intricate laterite sculptures in Kerala. The date of origin of the temple is not known but it is widely regarded as one of the oldest temples in the state, situated near Pattambi has some of the most intricate laterite sculptures in Kerala. It is very ancient – believed to be more than 1000 years old. Here the primary deity is lord Shiva. There is small pond near the temple. The temple sculptures and wall partially dilapidated condition.
