Introduction
Mulher is a village in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, India. The village of Mulher (Mayurnagari) is located on the Southern bank of the Mausam River. It is 3.5 km east by road of the village Vide Digar and the Haranbari Dam (downstream). There is three temple located in the fort, which are in ruined state. This temple is located down of fort. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva as Someshwar, Nandi is placed in front. It is connected by road, and buses and rickshaw are available from Taharabad.
Puranic Significance
The Rathore dynasty of Bagul ancestry reigned Baglan between 1310 and 1638. Mulher fort was their capital. The Mughals then gained control of Baglan. Baglan was mainly under their control. Shivaji Maharaj began a campaign in this region. In January 1671 the first assault brought the Salher fort under the Maratha rule. They then attacked Mulher fort but the Mughal Killedar repulsed the attack. However, the Marathas captured the Chaulher fort. There is Ganesh mandir, Someshwara mandir Rameshwara Mandir. The fort is mainly divided in two parts, the Mulher Machi (flat plateau) and the Bale-Killa (Citadel). The temple of Lord Ganesha is situated on the Mulher Machi. From Ganesh Mandir, two ways emerge out. The one towards left leads to Someshwar Mandir, a temple of Lord Shiva.
