Introduction
There are several villages by the name of Mathur. The Thirumalairajan River flows after crossing the Nachiyarkoil, 10 km south of Kumbakonam, on the south bank near its bridge. According to the history of this temple, it is said that the lord who raised the child in Thiruchengattangudi, Alive here. This is the place where Srilasree Swapoda Nanda Sivoha Mahak was liberated It was named Mahan and later as Mathur. This Mathur is now divided into two towns, Keelmathur and Melmathur. This is a Shiva temple in Melmathur which has since been destroyed over time. A lingamurthy in it has been erected on the roadside by the Urmas. Roofless is like being stuck in the summer sun. Currently Emperuman sits in a standard tin shed. The Lord can be called a Vaithiyarnathar. The Linga sages who formulate the pure Maya philosophy of Suttavittai include Brahma, Vishnu and Uruthiran. In Suttavittai, Parasivan stands as Brahman and creates, stands as Vishnu, loves and destroys Uruthirana. For such a lingamurthy. Whoever builds a temple to Lord Shiva gets the benefit of worshiping Lord Shiva daily. Not only that but a hundred generations of ancestors born in his clan will go to Shivalokam. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
