Introduction

Agatheeswarar Shiva Temple is dedicated to lord shiva, located in the Manakkal village, Valangaiman Taluk, Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu state, India. The presiding deity is called as Agatheeswarar in the form of lingam, Ambika name is unknown. This small village was the only lingamurthy near the small pond. The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old shiva temple. The locals have built a tin shed towards the east. The Lord is named Agathiswarar here, and is in medium-sized. Nearby are a small Ganesha towards the east and a small Ambika towards the south. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
