Introduction

Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is located in Karimanti is a small Village/hamlet in Shrirangapattana Taluk in Mandya District of Karnataka State, India. It comes under Karimanti Panchayath. It belongs to Mysore Division. It is located 33 KM towards west from District headquarters Mandya. 8 KM from Shrirangapattana. 138 KM from State capital Bangalore. Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, dedicated to an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, was built by the Hoysalas in the early 13th century. The period of about 1000 years was later restored. But the present condition of the temple is very deplorable. The temple is a complex of plants growing without adequate maintenance. Brick ruins are scattered in front of the temple. The walls are damaged by sprouting trees. This oldest Narasimha temple is most powerful deity.
