Introduction
Gunathalaipadi is located at a distance of 3 km from Kuthalam, cross the Cauvery River, which flows north of Kuthalam, and then the Vickraman River, then head west towards Kallanai Road (the road to Kadiramangalam). Kunalai is a kind of melodious melody. This may have been the town where the jugglers lived. It may have later become as Kunatalaipatti. Kunal means east. They built a singing house on the eastern side of Kadiramangalam and cut the Vickrama Chola river. Hence the town get the name as Gunathalaipadi. On the left side of the main road there used to be a large Shiva temple. The three lingams in it, are now housed in a long asbestos shed. A Nandi is placed opposite the lingam in the middle. There is a small Ganesha nearby the temple. A Ganesha who was in this temple has a separate temple on the roadside. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
