Introduction

Banasur Temple is a famous and old Mahadev Temple situated which is near to the Bank of mahanadi in Barapurikia village near to Ekadal village of Narasinghpur Block of Cuttack District. It is 4 to 5 K.m from Sidhamula village, Nayagarh. Here the primary deity is lord Baneswar (Shiva). While Lord Shiva is worshipped in the sanctum sanctorum, a beautiful figure of Lord Ganesh in standing posture is another attraction of the temple. The Ganesh idol and sculptures are in ruins. Architecture designs reflects from the temple from old times. it’s on a mountain with excellent stone work with the skilled workers at ancient time. But unfortunately the temple construction is semifinished, can’t completed, due to some unknown reason.
