Introduction
“Alangudi” is Special for Dakshinamoorthy Temple, But there are more than five Alangudi. This Alangudi village on the Kuthalam-Bandanallur road. Here the Lord, who had lived for many years in a coconut hut on the main roadside in the middle of the town, has now moved to a high temple with the help of some handicraftsmen. The Lord does not have a name here because no one in the locals knows the name of the Lord and Goddess, only the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess is facing south. In the hut there is a Ganesha and some of the Navagrahas. However the reversals are not yet complete. The rest of the works as Amman Sannathi Koshta Murthys, Barivar Devas are long list. Alangudi is said to be a place full of Banyan trees (Aala Maram). Hence the name Adavankudi may have been the Alangudi. Then there may be derived as Alangudi. It is a small roadside village, less than 6km from Kuthalam. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
