Introduction
Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple Vepanjeri is an ancient vaishnavite shrine. Here, Goddess Lakshmi sits on the left thigh and faces towards Lakshmi Narayana Swamy. It is unique temple with Pushkarini and Nakstravana. All the 27 stars have unique plants planted separately. Where one can see Stars (Nakshatras) and relevant trees. Vepanjeri is of 3 words Vem+ Pancha + Hari. In Sanskrit, Vem means Sins, Pancha means Five and Hari means that removes; a sacred place where it removes five sins. In course of time, Vem pancha hari became Vepanjeri.
Puranic Significance
This temple was built in Andhra 750 years ago during the reign of Kulothunga Chola III. Later due to successive invasions the glory of the temple diminished. Cattle rearing and agriculture are the main occupations of the people of this village. Lack of rain affected agriculture; the cattle suffered without fodder; People left the village due to hunger and starvation. People suffered without knowing the reason for this. Eventually, the desperate villagers gathered; discussed. They realized that Lakshmi Narayan, the guardian deity of Veppanjeri, had not been worshiped in the past. Then an unearthly voice said, “If you perform the regular pujas and abhishekams like before me, with my grace this village will prosper, the clan will prosper, the cow, the calf, the crops will flourish and you will be freed from your sins.”
Special Features
If you go inside beyond the flagpole of the temple, you can worship Garuda and Dwarapalaka. Kaliyuga Kannan is sitting in the sanctum sanctorum. Sridevi, Bhudevi Samedharai Srinivasa perumal is seated in a spectacular manner. There is also Sudarshana Chakra which removes all sins. The temple also has a Dasavathara Theertha kulam. It is useful for removing sins. Around this pool, the Dasavathara idols with beautiful carvings have been set up separately. In the middle of the pool, the sight of Lord Krishna performing the Kalinga dance in the water is a sight to behold. Adjacent to the pool, one cannot miss the 21-feet tall, beautifully carved single stone Dasavathara idol of Lord Krishna with ten incarnations. On the south side of this temple, Sri Ashtalakshmi temple is located. People who drink alcohol repent if they worship here. Taking part in the Rahukala Puja on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays brings many benefits. The number of devotees is increasing in the hope of getting crores of benefits from worshiping Lakshmi Narayana Swamy.

It is believed that people who are barred from marriage, childless, debt problem, get education and job opportunities, health problems, career affected people come to this temple and perform pooja regularly and get good results. On the south side of this temple, Sri Ashtalakshmi temple is located. People who drink alcohol repent if they worship here. Many benefits are obtained by participating in the Rahukala Puja held on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Millions of benefits will be obtained by worshiping Lakshmi Narayana Swamy.
