Introduction

Vennatrankarai Sarveshvaran Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Vennatrankarai, Thiruthurapoondi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Thiruthuraipoondiis 15 kms from Thiruvarur.There was a lingam under a royal tree on the road leading to the Vennarakari road leading to Tirunellikaval, three kilometres away on the road leading to Putur. They have built a small building and put a roof on it and here the lord is known as Sarveswaran in the form of medium sized lingam. And the lingam is believed to be 1000 years old.
