Introduction

Vengaram Peraiyur Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Vengaram Peraiyur village, Mannarkudi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. The word Vengaram is known as gold. This is an East facing Shiva temple in the village. Here the Presiding deity is called as Lord- Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari. It may also be the town mentioned in some inscriptions as Vengulaperaiyur. It is situated on the bank of Pandava River. The temple is said to be more than 1500 years old.
