Introduction

Veerareddy Theru Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Veerareddy theru, Udayarpalayam circle, Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu. The town is situated one kilometre west of Veeracholapuram on the highway. The 1000-year-old kailasanatha temple located in this small village. Over time, the great temple has been rebuilt after falling into disrepair. Here the Presiding deity is called as Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Kamakshi.Lord Kailasanatha; in a sanctum facing east side and kamakshi Amman resides in a sanctum facing south side. A copper shed has been constructed to connect the two shrines, with nandi and altars facing both shrines. There is only one Ganesha in each of the two sanctuaries. There are no other idols. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. There are two well-carved Nandis and an altar under a tree.
