Puranic Significance
Lord – Kailasanathar Goddess – Kamakshi has a decorative arch with high walls. At this place the Lord has an east facing sanctum. The goddess also has a sanctum facing south. A mandapam has been recently constructed of cement to join the two sanctums. It is said that this Sthalam Lord appeared to Indra as a married couple. The sanctums have the newly created Tenmukhan Lingodpavar Brahmaand Durga. As usual, Sandesar is present in the temple. Cement square stones have been used to surround the prakaram. Next to Vinayagar in the southwest, Valli Deivanai Sametha Muruga, Navagraha is in the northeast.
