Introduction
Uchuvadi Brahmarantheeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Uchuvadi village, Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Presiding deity is called as Brahmarantheeswarar, mother is called as Brahmakundalambigai. According to legends, this is the place where Lord Muruga worshiped Lord Shiva and studied Siddha arts. Not only that, it is said here that Arjuna received the Pashupatastra weapon from Lord Shiva.
Puranic Significance
When Lord Muruga was a child, he used to teach his father the Pranava Mantra. As atonement for this, Lord Muruga worshiped Lord Shiva in Uchuvadi village and learned Siddha Yogic arts from him. Eason here appears as a Yogamurthy with a head scar under the name Brahmarantheeswarar. Here, Lord Muruga also bestows wisdom as a yogic form.
Eason here is seated as Adhiguru meditating on the yogic arts with a scar on his head. As his companion, Brahmakunthalambigai. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. If you come here and worship, you will gain wisdom and mastery of tricks. The people of this town say that they can succeed in their work. Not only that, it is here that Arjuna got the Pashupatastra weapon. It is also said that Sahadeva came here to seek blessings from Easan and received boons.
Beliefs
Lord Muruga has all the aspects of Agni, Indra, Varuna, Pragaspati and Mars. Thus worshiping Lord Muruga will remove all evils. All obstacles caused by Mars will be removed. Guru Parva gets stronger and dark things happen. Gain power and unlimited wealth.

All Shiva related festivals especially Masi Magam is celebrated here with much fanfare.
