Introduction
Tirumalairayanpattinam Ekambareswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Tirumalairayanpattinam village, Karaikal district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Presiding deity is called as Ekambareswarar and Mother is called as Kamakshi.
The temple is managed by the Vishwakarma community. Thirumalairayan built a large city named after him in the middle of the fifteenth century, in which he built 108 temples, and over time many of the destroyed temples have been revived and presented in a new dimension. There is a three tiered Rajagopuram in the east facing temple, and the Lord is facing east and Ambikai is facing south. There are two dwarapalakas at the gate of the sanctum and two dwarapalakas at the outer gate. Karurai has Tenmugan, Lingotbavar and Brahma. Vinayagar here is also known as Akkasalai Vinayagar.
This temple has its own history. When he crossed the sea of milk and took the nectar, the earth became hot, so the Lord got up and made it rain. Therefore, the annual wedding ceremony will take place here on Friday. At that time, when Lord Ekambareswarara Kamakshi was walking along the street, it would rain year after year; this scene is the main event of this temple.
