Introduction
Thiruneiper Vanmeekanatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Thiruneiper, Thiruvarur circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Naminandi adigal Nayan’s house has been set up as his temple. It is east of the road and west of the temple. There is no gopuram on the eastern facade of this Shiva temple. Above the gate is the carving of Lord Murugan. Here the Lord is called as Vanmeekanathar and Mother is called as Umaparameshwari. It was discovered a few years ago. After entering the entrance, Naminandhi steps to the left and is on the first floor. On the right is lingamurthy, in front is Nandi. Nearby is a statue of Naminandikai with an urn.
The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old. The Lord shrine is in Arthamandapam and Amman is in Munmandapam, facing south. Nandi is in the hall before the Lord. Ganesha is in front of the Lord. Among Karurai are Tenmugan and Durgai. Vinayagar is in a separate sanctum and Valli theiwanisamedha murugan is in a separate sanctum. In the north-east there is a lingam called Vayulingam, next to Bhairava, Saturn and Naga are seen.
