Introduction               

 Swamimalai Mahalingaswami Temple is located in the Swamimalai village, Kumbakonam circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu.  To the west of Kumbakonam is Swamimalai temple is located at the end of the street, on the banks of the Kaveri River. It is a small east facing side temple. Here the Presiding deity is called as Mahalingaswami. The temple is in ruins, Shiva is in a single shed. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
