  • Story: Sage Narada presented a fruit of knowledge to Lord Shiva, who decided to award it to the son who circled the world thrice. Murugan (Karthikeya) embarked on this journey, while Ganesha, understanding that his parents represented the world, circled them instead. Shiva awarded the fruit to Ganesha, leading to Murugan’s anger and retreat to the Palani hills.
  • Karthikeya’s Abode: In Palani, Murugan chose to mature as a hermit, discarding his ornaments and engaging in meditation to gain self-knowledge.
