Introduction
Sengamangalam Mughalingeswarar Temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, Located in the Sengamangalam village, Nagai circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. There are two Shiva temples in this town, one Mughalingeshwarar temple and Shanthapureeswarar Shiva Temple. There are many temples of Lord Shiva in the town and the one in the centre of the town is the Mughalingeswarar Temple which was built in recent years.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 300 years old. This temple is a small one-room temple created by a lady named Devi Krishna Kumari and her husband. Both of them have done the pooja together. In the past year, he has passed away and she is worshiping the Lord. Here the Primary deity is called as Mughalingeswarar. In the eastern side, the Lord is in a beautiful form with a beautiful face. In front of him are a black stone statue, and the altar Nandi outside the sanctum.
