Introduction
Saminathapuram Temple is located in the Saminathapuram village, Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu. Here the primary deity is Sri Shaktipuri Parashakti Idaitheeswari. Sulams are placed at the gates of this temple. An elaborately decorated lion vehicle is seen. Amman gives darshan of Visvarupadar in the pillar standing here. The Temple is believed to be 500- 1000 years old.
Puranic Significance
On the banks of the Amaravati River, Amman as a middle-aged woman. The demon went there and tried to forcefully hold the mother’s hand. Immediately, the mother took the form of an angel to heaven and earth. She held his hand and threw it away.
The skull fell into the fire pit of the temple. The headless body fell in front of the temple. Eason pacified the angry mother after her death. Mother is the confluence of Icha, Kriya and Jnana Shakti.
Beliefs
On the full moon day of Panguni month, they wear Tulsimalai, yellow shirt, red dress and green cloth and visit the mother for a month. She blesses this mother to be blessed with a child.
