Ramadevar Siddhar
Ramadevar Siddhar, also known as Uromarishi or Yacob Siddhar, holds a prominent position in the Tamil Siddha Medicine System due to his significant contributions in various fields of Siddha Science. A highly respected thinker and diligent researcher, he was renowned for his ability to explain complex concepts in Siddha Science using simple Tamil language.
Born into a Brahmin family, Ramadevar Siddhar was believed to be a descendant of the great Pulasthiyar lineage and a favorite disciple of Sage Agathiyar. Residing in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, he delved deep into the world of Siddha science, where he attained mastery through intensive meditation practices, particularly in awakening the Kundalini energy.
His spiritual practices enabled him to raise the Kundalini energy through the chakras to the crown, leading to divine union and mastery over Attama Siddhis, resulting in the manifestation of various miraculous powers known as Jaalam in Tamil. Ramadevar Siddhar was known to transcend into the macro cosmic world effortlessly, even during mundane activities like walking or sleeping.
During one of his journeys, he inadvertently found himself in Arabia, where he was confronted by Arabs and eventually converted to Islam. Renamed Yakub or Yacob, he continued his spiritual practices, worshiping the messenger of Allah, Nabigal Nayagam, in Mecca. He spent forty years in Samadhi in Mecca before receiving guidance from the Siddha alchemist Bogar to return to Tamil Nadu.
Back in Tamil Nadu, he resided in the Sathuragiri hills, where he translated his works from Arabic to Tamil. His writings encompassed various aspects of Siddha science, including alchemy, yoga, gnana, Siddha medicine, and the preparation methods of Siddha medicines. Additionally, he compiled works on cleansing or neutralizing the toxicity of metals and materials used in Siddha medicine.
Ramadevar Siddhar’s use of simple language in his works made it accessible to a wider audience, enabling readers to grasp the intricacies of Siddha medicine easily. His writings also provided insights into awakening Kundalini energy step by step.
Finally, Ramadevar Siddhar attained Jeeva Samadhi at Alagar Malai in Madurai, leaving behind a rich legacy of knowledge and wisdom in the field of Siddha Science.
