Vargi Hanuman Temple in Puri, Odisha, India. The Vargi Hanuman Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman.It is considered one of the Ashta Mahavira Temples of Puri. The temple is located on Lokanatha Road, situated to the west of the Jagannatha Temple in Puri. The temple is approximately 200 meters away from the Puri Jagannatha Temple, 2 kilometers from Puri Bus Stand, and 3 kilometers from Puri Railway Station.

- The Vargi Hanuman Temple is believed to be around 1000 years old.
- In ancient times, the Vargis, a clan from Maharashtra, used to pass through this area on their horses, creating disturbances to the temple and the people of Puri.
- The Vargis were ardent devotees of Lord Hanuman.
- To prevent the Vargis from entering Puri and causing disruptions, a Hanuman idol was installed at this location.
- When the Vargis saw their beloved god, they were reluctant to pass the temple on their horses, which effectively ended their harassment of the temple and the local residents.
