A few hundred years ago there was also buddha worship. There is also a Buddha statue in the temple. There are two large ponds along the main road, and in between the two is a beautiful small temple, and Sri Rama is here on his way to Sri Lanka. While resting under a paddy tree, he also realized that there was a Shivalinga under the ground. Lord Rama again brought out the Shivalinga and worshiped it. Sri Rama worshiped Shiva Lingam and hence is called Sri Rama Nath Swamy. Lord – Ramanathaswami Mother – Parvatavartini
In the temple to the east, there is a medium-sized lingamurti of the Lord, and at the gate of the sanctum sanctorum there are two deities and Valli-Theivanai Murugan.
