Introduction

Poosalangudi Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Poosalangudi village, Thiruthuraipoondi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. The Shiva temple towards the west is situated on the banks of a large pond. Here the Primary deity is called as Lord – Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Akilandeswari. Lord Kailasanatha and Ambikai sanctums are towards the south side. There is a hall for Nandi in front of Lord.

There is a small Dakshnamurthy on the south sanctum. In the south-west corner there is a Vinayagar called vinayakar. In the north-west there is a small temple of Valli theiyani samedha murugan. Sandesar is located in a small shrine to the north of the Lord’s Sanctuary. There is also a Bairava facing south in the northeast, and a large Lingamurthy with a square shrine. Next to that is Vishnu in a standing posture on a floor. Kailasanathar is a lingamurthy who has passed a thousand years.
