The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Here the Lord – Kashi Vishwanatha is a small idol facing towards the east and Vishalakshi is facing towards the south. A large concrete hall connects the two sanctuaries. Outside it is a small Nandi towards the Lord. There is also a small Ganesha outside the temple. Karurai Kottam has Tenmugan in the south and Durga in the north. There are shrines dedicated to Vinayagar Murugan and Lakshmi in Prakaram, and Sandesar is in the usual place. To the north-east is Navagraha, and to the south is Kalabhairava. The entire temple campus is planted with banana trees and flowering plants. The temple is in a period of worship, and despite its many features, the status of the temple is just a lamp in a pot.
