Introduction

Subramanian Swamy Temple is located in the village of Pinnalur in Cuddalore district, Tamilnadu. Here the presiding deity is called as Subramanian Swamy with his consorts valli and Deivanai. The temple is located in the Pinnalur village. The Temple is believed to be 500- 1000 years old.

Puranic Significance

About 130 years ago, a servant of Lord Murugan lived in this village. He used to go to the temple daily to see Lord Murugan. At one point the economic crisis forced him to go abroad for work. His memory was around Murugan though. At that time an old man there met him and told him to go to the city and build a Murugan temple under your power and he disappeared. He came to his village overcoming many obstacles without thinking of going to the city and building a temple. The first task was to set up a shed where the idol of Lord Murugan was placed and worshiped. People started calling him Kuppusamy Siddhar because of his devotion to Murugan. It later became a building. As soon as Siddhar died due to old age, his body was buried nearby and the ritual was established.

After a while the maintenance stopped and the temple began to fall into disrepair. Later, a new statue of Valli Deivanai Sametha Subramaniyar was installed and on 8th April 2022, Kudamuzhukku Vaibhavam was held for the temple.
