When Agathiyar travelled to the southern region, he worshiped Shivalinga at several places on the way, one of which is called Periyakudi, so here the name of the Lord is Agatheeswarar and the name of the Goddess is Soundaryanayaki. This small temple is facing east, the Lord is facing east, Ambigai is facing south, and there is a large connecting hall.

The Temple is believed to be 1500 years old. There is a little Ganesha at the gate of Lord’s palace and two Naga’s on the other side. In the same hall, there is a Bhairava facing south and a Bhairava facing west in the northeast corner. Lord Rishabharu appears on this front porch. There is also a Nandi Mandapam outside the temple.
