The Temple is believed to be 800 years old. The Lord’s sanctuary is made of brick, and there is an ancient Vinayagar statue at the gate of the Lord’s shrine, and the Lord’s sanctuary is facing south. A sixteen-foot black stone hall connects the two sanctuaries and adorns them. The Lord is a huge idol.

One of the most beautiful Dakshan statues in Karurai Koshta is a woman standing with a rabbit at her feet and bowing down with a hen. The story is not explained. Vinayagar sanctum in the south-west is made of stone and above it the vimanam is made of brick.
