Introduction

Viswanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Pathur Village in Thiruvarur District of Tamilnadu. The Temple is also called as Natarajar Temple. Presiding Deity is called as Viswanathar and Mother is called as Visalakshi.

Puranic Significance

The 12th century Natarajar Idol from this temple was stolen but the temple got him back from Greece in 1991after 9 years of legal wrangling. Pathur is just the adjacent village to Koradacherry. Just before entering Koradacherry, a road deviating from the main one, will take you to Pathur. The Temple is located at about 1 Km from Koradacherry, Nearest Railway Station is located at Koradacherry and Nearest Airport is located at Trichy.

Festivals

All Shiva related festivals especially Masi Magam is celebrated here with much fanfare.
