Introduction
Nalladai Kashiviswanathar Temple is dedicated Lord Shiva, Located in the Nalladai village, Tharangambadi circle, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. Nalladai is 12 km on the road leading south of Sembanar temple next to Mayiladuthurai. To the south of it on the main road opposite a government primary school is this Kashi Vishwanathar temple is located. It is customary to bring a lingam from the river Narmada and dedicate it to the village so that the surrounding people should get the benefits of coming to Kashi. One of them is here in the name of Kashi Vishwanath.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Here the Primary deity is called as Kasi Vishwanath and Mother is called as Kashi Vishalakshi. Lord is small lingam. The temple to the east, which must have been repaired recently, is beautifully painted. The lord is seated in the Sanctum towards the east and the goddess towards the south. In front of the Lord is the Nandi Prakaram, separate temples for Vinayagar and Muruga have been built and painted in golden colour. It looks like a golden temple in peak sun. In Karurai Kottam, Tenmugan only has sandesardhani shrine.
