Introduction

Dhabaleswar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Mohangiri, Odisha. It is around 85 km to the northeast of the district headquarters, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi. A mountainous stream called Kali Ganga is flowing nearby, on the bank of River, which stands a Siva temple. The Shiva temple stands on a hill.

Puranic Significance

Local folklore records, one assistant sub-inspector of police, who was posted in this remote area, came to know through the dream that one Siva temple is laying buried underneath. His dream came true when he dug out the hillock with the help of the local villagers and discovered the ruins as well as eleven pillars of the Jagamohana hall still in standing position.
